Our family was introduced to­ alpacas i­n 1997 b­y my mother who said, "With all of the animals you have, why don't you get some that will make you some money?" She ordered a video about alpacas a­n­d after seeing these beautiful creatures running across the pasture with their babies we were hooked. We began our research on how to care for alpacas, the tax benefits and the initial start up cost of buying the alpacas.

After visiting ranches in our area and learning about their experiences raising alpacas, we decided this lifestyle would be a good choice for our family. We began clearing the property and fencing in grazing and catch areas safe from intruders. We were so excited and finally ready to bring home our first two alpacas and one guard llama. Raising alpacas has been the most enjoyable as well as educational experience we have ever had and we met so many wonderful people involved with raising these animals.

From Birth to Fleece

From the miracle of seeing babies born to the sheering of their fleece and wearing the beautiful products made from our own animals has made us slow down and take time to relax and enjoy our family and our life. It's a remarkable transition that those sweet animals do to ones life.
